VELVET UNDERGROUND (1965 - 1973)

Fernando Fontenla Felipetti

It is always good to go back to the origins. Even once in a while. Because time passes and we forget, but... was Velvet Underground really the beginning of everything?
Velvet Underground was more than a beginning, it was a crossroads, a kind of valve between ancient and modern music. When listening to their songs we will find the same cliches of any other band of the time but also elements that we will recognize in the music only 15 years later. There is no doubt that they had an advanced sensitivity for their time, which caused the misunderstanding of the masses and low sales of their albums. Their masterpiece was their debut album, in which they expressed themselves more freely, putting experimentation and intuition first.

TELEVISION (1973 - 1992)

Fernando Fontenla Felipetti
Musical biography

Television was a band that did not have a great success, its musicians did not write great songs, and even less, songs that became hits. But nevertheless, they channeled what they had heard: surely Velvet Undergrond, probably The Doors, obligatorily to The Beatles, and they let flow what they had to give. What came out was a unique and broken guitar sound that would be imitated by so many, especially punk bands, mixed with a sweeter, arpeggiated guitar, which would abound in the pop bands of the next two decades and beyond. The bass getting into the melody of the songs, and a less tuned, less standardized voice that screamed, whispered, or spoke if he did not feel like singing. A more unstructured voice. All the sound of Television inaugurated an era where the imperfect was also valid.

Siouxsie and the Banshees were one of the first bands of a new generation, a generation that revolutionized the sound that existed until then. They were born almost at the first moment of punk, their first recitals were at the legendary Club 100 in 1976. They released their first album just a few months after Never mind the bollocks or the first album by The Damned. From minute zero the Banshees were not satisfied with being punks, they had something more to give, a latent darkness that many other bands then tried to follow during the following decade.

One of those enlightened ones who left us really innovative music was Robert Smith. He formed a band like so many, with few pretensions. He did not even aspire to sing and tried to have a singer without success. In the end he chose to do his own thing, what came out, with the elements that he had, and with his friends. He evolved, and accomplished the miracle.

Star systems closer to earth
with confirmed planets

Given that numerous lists of exoplanets have been published in recent times and that many of them appear outdated, not because of their authors' disinterest but because of the speed with which discoveries occur, it is appropriate to create a list that does not cover all the exoplanets discovered but some with specific characteristics.
Having already discovered about 4000 planets of all kinds, one of the most interesting questions is to know what happens in the star systems closest to ours.

TRAPPIST-1: THE STAR SYSTEM, PERFECT?

The TRAPPIST-1 star system turns out to be one of the most interesting discovered so far. Nothing more and nothing less than 7 terrestrial-size planets among which one, two, or even three of them, are in the area where water can remain in a liquid state. As if that were not enough, the 7 planets present a complex orbital resonance with each other that hides a remarkable coincidence.

In this second part we break down the alternatives for the attack on May 25, 1982 on the Atlantic Conveyor container ship. Of the three Exocet attacks, it was the one that caused the greatest operational losses to the Royal Navy. The destruction of the helicopters carried by the ship, caused the royal marines to walk 100 kilometers through West Falkland with all their equipment in tow to reach Stanley. In turn, the defensive actions carried out by the British fleet that day will give us a parameter to try to unravel the unknowns that are still contained in the last chapter of this story, which occurred on May 30, 1982.

The revenue that could be obtained from this novel weapon was unknown for both the Argentine Navy and the Royal Navy. Its French creators had assured the British that the Argentines would not be able to reveal its operation ...
In this three-part work, we will compile the official Argentine versions and the declassified British reports of the attacks on Sheffield and Atlantic Conveyor, in order to finally try to reveal the unknowns that are still contained in the last chapter of this story, which occurred on May 30, 1982.

They are not similar at all, nor in the sound, nor in the image, nor in the lyrics. But U2 and Duran Duran toured the rock history almost at par, and they are the only bands with more than 30 years of career that still give us new material today.

When Roberto runs out of accommodation, he receives a surprise offer to stay at his workplace, a supermarket. At night he hears a distant music, until he discovers that it comes from a forgotten space between the supermarket and the neighboring house. He believes that everything is a joke of Lixue, the owner's daughter, with whom he is immersed in a game of mutual seduction.
Meanwhile, Sofia, the neighbor next door, also listens to the music of the seventies, which turns out to be the same one that her aunt who died a few years ago heard. She is the first to suspect that Cuernavaca is somehow coming back to life and that it is not good at all. The activity in the renewed disco is increasing every weekend until the expected final party.
